Its Thursday and that means its time for Alex Fitch to update us on the shows he’s involved with for our aural delight over the next week or so; as ever check the Panel Borders site for more details and links to podcasts of previous shows:

Strip!: Octopi, dogs and bears, oh my!, tonight at 5pm on Resonance FM, podcast afterwards at Panel Borders

Concluding children’s comics fortnight on Resonance FM, Alex Fitch talks to artists Henri Goldsmann and Richy K. Chandler about their work. Henri is the author of a new picture book – “Harold (a dog’s best friend)” – and has a successful career as a caricaturist, having dabbled in graphic novels such as “Secret Agent Spanky Sheep” on the side. Richy has produced ten terrific mini comics such as “Lucy the Octopus” and “Govinda the Meditating Rabbit” over the last couple of years which are now available in a cute bear shaped box set… (This is the last in the current series of Strip! and the show will return in September)

I’m ready for my close-up: Francis Matthews, tonight at 10.30pm on Resonance FM, podcast at SciFi London on the 19th

To coincide with the release of the little known 1970s BBC TV adaptation of the Paul Temple mysteries on DVD, Alex Fitch and Robin Warren talk to actor Francis Matthews about his career, from playing the aforementioned mystery writer turned detective to voicing the suave and indestructible puppet Captain Scarlet and fighting Christopher Lee’s unkillable nemeses in the Hammer films  Rasputin: The Mad Monk and Dracula: Prince of Darkness…

Please note: Resonance FM is broadcasting repeats only for the second half of August and will return with new programs in September.

Podcasts of Alex’s interviews with Garen Ewing, Woodrow Phoenix, Gerry Anderson and Francis Matthews will be online next Thursday…

Recent podcasts:

Panel Borders: Horrible Histories

Starting children’s comics month on Panel Borders, Alex Fitch talks to writer Terry Deary and cartoonist Martin Brown about their hugely successful range of children’s books, Horrible Histories, which have formed the inspiration for a new interactive exhibition that’s just opened at the Imperial War Museum, London.

Reality Check: Circling the Stargate, online at SciFi London

As one era of Stargate on TV comes to close and before the next begins, we’re looking at the past of the franchise on DVD and CD. Guest interviewer Liz George talks to actress Rachel Luttrell about her experiences on Stargate: Atlantis and Alex Fitch talks to author James Swallow about his Stargate: SG1 & Atlantis talking books.

And on a Stargate note, don’t forget to enter our excellent Stargate Atlantis competition where you could win a season 5 box set, a poster signed by Rachel Luttrell and a prop weapon from the show.
